Plan a Spring Break Getaway

When the excitement of the holiday season is done, the promise of spring – and a Spring Break cruise – can get you through the remainder of winter. Right now is a very good time to plan a Spring Break getaway to assure an excellent choice of ships, staterooms and itineraries.

Whether your spring break travel group is just you, or you and 100 of your closest friends, your Cruise Holidays personal cruise expert is ready to help. Cruises are designed to deliver terrific value for your vacation budget and the ease of an all-inclusive vacation; but, your cruise expert can offer insider information on any available discounts, your best stateroom choices, top shore excursions and much more.

As for where to sail, the Caribbean is an ideal Spring Break playground: a week there will remind you what blue skies, warm breezes, and sandy beaches are all about. Select a cruise of the Eastern Caribbean to get acquainted with this region’s diverse islands, some made of low-lying coral and some of volcanic slopes covered with lush green jungle.

To visit the Riveria Maya along Mexico’s Caribbean coast, choose a Western Caribbean itinerary. You can get just as much beach time as you would in the Eastern Caribbean, and can also venture inland to explore remnants of ancient Mayan communities. Some Western Caribbean cruises venture south to Belize and the world-class diving spot of Roatan, just off the coast of Honduras.

The mountainous Pacific Coast of Mexico – the Mexican Riviera – is another beautiful Spring Break destination. The coastline is dotted with colorful towns that retain the charm of their fishing village origins, yet offer modern attractions for cruise passengers. There are wide beaches and secluded coves to explore; or, hop on a boat for some deep-sea fishing or whale watching.

If you live within six hours or so of an ocean view, you might consider driving to meet your ship. There are cruise ship ports all along the southern portion of the eastern seaboard and the Gulf Coast, including Charleston, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Tampa, New Orleans, Houston and Galveston. You can even set sail to the Caribbean from as far north as Baltimore, Bayonne and New York City. If you’ll cruise the Mexican Riviera, you can catch a ship from Los Angeles or San Diego. If you plan to drive, talk with your Cruise Holidays personal cruise expert about hotel and parking options in port.
